Sky Sports and Zuffa Boxing’s event at Bournemouth International Centre featured a main fight between Chris Billam and Ryan Rozicki. Lighting designer Max Conwell of Naked Eye Lighting collaborated with Michael Nevitt of Crossfade Design to create a striking broadcast-focused production design centred around a bespoke octagonal ring truss.
Drawing inspiration from Zuffa’s combat sports heritage, the overhead structure provided a distinctive architectural focal point while delivering clean sightlines for both the live audience and television cameras. Fighter ring walks were framed by vertical Titan Tubes, creating dynamic corridors of light and dramatic camera perspectives as competitors made their entrances.
The ring itself was illuminated using a carefully balanced combination of Ayrton Perseo fixtures, Nexus Panels and ARRI SkyPanels, delivering both the visual impact required for introductions and the high-quality, soft, even illumination essential for broadcast coverage. The result was a contemporary, premium presentation that blended spectacle with technical precision, reinforcing the event’s position as a major addition to the UK boxing calendar.
